Churches and chapels of Balatongyörök
BECEHEGY CHAPEL
The Szentháromság Római Katolikus Kápolna (Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Chapel) is located between the vineries of Becehegy. In summer, there are common worships with the locals of neighboring villages (mostly Nemesvita and Balatonederics). During Szentháromság búcsú (Holy Trinity fair) there is a open court mass, wine, and singing. Its altar was renovated in 2010.
ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
In 1715, it was built for St. Michael archangel. It was rebuilt in 1745. In the 19th century it was reconstructed in a classicist manner using the original walls. Its tower is 21 meters high, and houses two bells.
The church was renovated in 2001, and is under monument portection.
